REACH SERVICE SET LISTS

Below are the set lists of the past and upcoming songs used in REACH Worship. Each week, we’ll add the upcoming Sunday’s list. Our hope is that Worship Leaders will get some inspiration and ideas from these lists. Also, if you attend the REACH service at Northeast Presbyterian in Columbia, SC, we invite you to get familiar with the upcoming songs. Each title and artist is a direct link to the song on Amazon, so you can listen to a piece of the song, or download it and add it to your Praise & Worship collection on your MP3 player. Worship Leaders: Feel free to upload your set lists in the comment section below and we’ll publish them here as well!

Beginning October 16th, 2011, we begin telling the story of why each song was chosen. Hopefully, you’ll find this helpful as you pray over your own set list each week.

Oct. 16th

Your Grace is Enough – Chris Tomlin
One Way – Hillsong (Live)
I Will Follow – Chris Tomlin
Lead Me To The Cross – Hillsong United
Mighty to Save – Laura Story version
How Great is Our God – Seventh Day Slumber

On the 16th, we had a guest speaker – a missionary from Cairo, Egypt – who was focusing on God’s providence and how He prepares us “for such a time as this.” We weren’t quite sure what his sermon would focus on specifically, so the idea was to pick songs that focused on several issues: (1) His Grace (2) His Salvation (3) His Greatness, and (4) our response to Him.

We started the service with Your Grace as a proclamation that God’s Grace abounds and we accept it! The next song, One Way, set us up for the next two song by proclaiming that we recognize there is but one way to Him. The next two songs, I Will Follow and Lead Me To The Cross continued the “follow” theme as a solid way to say “hey God, I’ll go wherever you want me to go, because I know you’ll first lead me to the Cross.”

Even though we didn’t have a perfect picture of the sermon topic, God was able to use these songs to fit perfectly into the fabric of the speaker’s message. It’s amazing how God uses our faithfulness in prayer to bind thing together for His purpose. I urge you to never put a set list together without first consulting the one for whom the songs were written. God will always honor that. Oh, and don’t ask why we chose mostly older songs – ask God ;)
